It's been a strange day
I don’t think you should beat yourself up, I have done things like that loads of times, I have flooded the house with both the kitchen sink and the bath . When you suffer mobility problems pain problems anxiety, the will to want to do, my brain shuts down as a coping mechanism, then yes your right bingo everyone is thinking I have gone bonkers.
Things like this will happen, keep your chin up you are doing well.

Don’t worry about it. It’s a very common event with FND, Fibromyalgia. They call it brain fog. Pain and health issues are very distracting and if your mind wanders to the next thing you need to do the present is lost momentarily. Just try to focus on one task at a time, complete it then move on to the next,

Hi, you could of been a little distracted overwhelmed. As someone who doesn't personally suffer with FND I forget things, get stressed etc. For example, only last week I went to get some food shopping and vaguely recall getting out the car, stopping to put my fleece on and go into the shop. When I came back the car door was open, not just a little, completely wide open to my surprise. So don't beat yourself up about it and catastrophise about what may be. You need to take a step back and be in the here and now. We can't change the past and the future isn't here yet.
Hugs xx
Any one with a neuro/vestibular condition can experience cognitive/vestibular interactions when doing daily tasks. Our systems are working so hard to stay balanced that there isn't much battery power left over so multi tasking becomes more challenging and leaving taps on etc is normal. I found that slowing down helped me speed up, if that makes sense. What happened to you may not be a sign of things to come and I found it really helpful to understand why my thought processes were not as clear as they used to be. People who have sustained head injuries report similar cognitive issues and these are well recognised now, thank heavens.
