Hi,

I'm looking for a Consultant Neurologist in the south of England who specialises in diagnosing FND - can anyone help?

Hi, is that private? If so you can look google and filter "FND" also read bios etc. I did this a while back but eventually got NHS appt.

Let me find the link for you.

You can pay privately too. Clicked on one link and appointment as early as 4th Dec.

Probably a good idea if you can afford it, as I was stunned to see how long our local Neurology Specialist referral time was.

Hi Lady4, thank you very much for sending this link. I came across Top Doctors in my searches but it's good to know that you had a good experience with one of them. :-)

Hi no, I haven't seen one of those Drs but vaguely remember my NHS neurologist was avail private on some site. Can't find which site I found originally but it was from the professional organisation, ie qualifications etc. Let me ask google another question 😊

Good morning, I was diagnosed with FNDs by Dr Stanton at King's College Hospital, London. I have added a link with her information.

I can recommend (if they are still in their respective hospitals) Dr. Chris Symeon at Queen Mary’s Roehampton, professor Mark Edwards at St.Thomas or the Maudsley Hospital. All easily accessed via NHS and Reading trains into London. I've had contact with all of them over the last 10 years and was amazed at their commitment to FND.

Hi

I have been under Prof Mark Edwards who was based at St George’s in Tooting for the past 10 years.

He initially diagnosed me too and arranged a very helpful week of neuro physio to help my mobility issues. However, sadly I was advised that he is now only running a new private clinic still with FND as his specialism. The website shows the rates -

I was waiting over 1 and a half years in Sussex for a general neurologist appointment, so you may have a long wait…..

Hope you managed to be seen as soon as possible

Lucy in Brighton.
