Just wondering if medication like diazepam works for dystonia caused by fnd? Or does it not work for dystonia caused by fnd. Wondering because I know the meds for epileptic seizures don't work for non epileptic seizures

I don’t find it helps me. I have a permanent facial tremor (like a shiver), tics and trouble with speech. Although it helps to send me to sleep if I’ve had a bad spell, I don’t actually find it really helps at all. For my tremors the only thing I’ve tried that helps me is CBD with a low dose of THC… it doesn’t stop them completely but it slows them down if they’re bad.

i am currently taking the highest dose of diazepam and i feel like it helps sometimes and other times it doesn’t, i am also on Baclofen as well not sure how it is helping, i just started low dose naltrexone for my pain because pain is definitely one of my triggers for my episodes

if you have functionl dystonia, benzodiazepines, which slow down the nervous system, do help ... try ativan (which is another benzo) ... what symptoms do you have from your functional dystonia ? what body parts does it affect and what precipitated it ?

It gets triggered by certain things like medication, chemical sprays (one I used once triggered it) eating peanuts, coming down with things like covid or norovirus (common cold I'm ok) over doing it especially being upright as I have pots syndrome. Once it's triggered I know it's coming because my muscles start twitching, then things start randomly moving like my foot, hand and then my whole body starts to spasm and grips my whole body in for like 20-30 seconds and then releases until it all starts building up again.

I'm confused because an immunologist said fnd is not triggered by food. So I'm thinking is it something else I got like my aps that's getting triggered by these things and causing it. I thought maybe if it's fnd medication won't stop it as they've always said they can't do anything for fnd medication don't work etc
