I'm writing to see if anybody has any episodes of being suddenly jolted from their sleep, especially if you have FND and Fibromyalgia?
I've experienced it once, several years ago and had an episode today, which is quite scary if you're on your own. It's like when your body is ready to go into that alpha like dream state, and you can suddenly jolt out of it. I had a head pain for a few hours prior to this happening, but I know that Baclofen, of which I take for my FND, can cause hallucinations, but I've been taking it for 12 years and apart from the odd occasion when my husband wakes up to stop me from sleep walking, I've had no hallucination effects.
Many thanks for your help.
Best wishes!

I have what’s called hypnic jerks Or myoclonus, but I’m not sure that is what you are referring to? Every night I experience the sudden muscle/ segmented body jerks as I go from that wakeful to sleep state (sleep studies have actually shown that I’m doing them the whole night I just wasn’t aware). They present more heavily when I am flared up so I may have a week of two of relief followed by 2 to 3 weeks where they are very consistent.
Many thanks for your reply. I've had many Hospital appointments recently, which has been stressful, so it's a possibility that could have added to it. I'm so sorry to hear of your symptoms and how often you get them. It must be so stressful. Fingers crossed, my symptoms ease off and I truly wish you nothing but improvement with your symptoms you experience. My appreciation in your help. Best wishes! Kim 👍👍
