Do you think that going Vegan might relieve symptoms of FND? I was diagnosed 6 months ago and am looking for anything to help.

I went vegan a little over 2 years ago now, a few months after I started realizing my symptoms, I choose this path strictly for ethical path & doing the right thing! Going vegan will certainly help many great feelings, it will encourage & motivate you if you do it for ethical reasons, even giving you something "new" which in theory can help a bit with FND symptoms of anxiety, depression, focus issues, movement's, etc.. However there are no real connections with going vegan. I started a "treatment" plan with my neurologist which involves Psychiatry, Psychologist & Physical Therapy which I will say has helped me quite a bit over the last few months since I started. This is also a great place to share & realize your not alone or crazy lol . Best of luck :)

I don’t know about going vegan, since not everything that is vegan is necessarily good for you, but since my daughter started having fnd syntoms we ended up trying many different things, including the detox diet recommended by medical medium and we noticed a slow reduction in the syntoms ( almost 2 monthsand many of her syntoms reduced or disappears and still making progress)! it is not exactly vegan, but we included much more whole foods, wild blueberry, celery juice and avoid some specific substances ( processed / industrialized food in general, but he has a list of things to avoid). it was very beneficial for us and what he says made a lot of sense... I believe it is worth the shot...

Hi, I have recently been on an elimination diet (not for FND but because I have gallstones and don't want to have surgery) and after the first week of being gluten free I suddenly noticed a huge reduction in my FND symptoms. I thought this was probably just me having a good patch but it's now been 6 weeks and I'm still only expereincing low level symptoms. This could be conincidence or it could also be that by doing this diet I have put a lot of thought into ballancing my diet properly and have added extra things into my diet like hemp milk and hemp protein powder. But either way I am excited to have expereinced the longest peroid so far without major debilitating symptoms.

I have been vegan for the last year and haven't noticed any major reduction in FND symptoms but it does suit me better as dairy etc cause me to have major sinus problems.

Even though FND is quite different to MS, someone I know recomended I read the Wahls Protocol (it is written by a Dr who has MS and reversed her dibilitation symptoms through diet). It makes for very interesting reading and although I am not following it, reading it did make me realise I have spent years never really thinking about the impact that diet has on our body and how it functions. I found it particulalry interesting learning how different foods impact the body on a cellular level (I wasn't very good at science at school but am getting quite nerdy about it now). Good luck and I hope you find something that helps.

Hi! My 16 yrs old was on a vegan diet for.almost a year, and it worked for her bowel problems but anything else..still had black outs, seizures, tics, among others symptoms. I just say that if you want to go vegan, make sure you're not suffering for it, I mean there's no reason to add stress your life. Also make sure to take proper supplements ( such us vitC, B12; iron; magnesium; proteins, Zinc..) other way could be very bad for FND.

Today my daughter went to the doctor and she send her to take B12 ..because is having so much muscle pain.

Hugs and good luck!
