Hi CallmeRouge,
Other than maintaining a moderate emotional state, as part of self management I am a convert to mindfulness and exercise.
I maintain a simple exercise regime 15-20 mins' each day which concentrates on my core more than other areas. No six-pack yet, doubt that'll ever happen, but it is beneficial. If I have a number of days where it doesn't happen (hols' etc.) I notice a difference.
I'm almost evangelical about Mindfulness. Not everybody gets it, and many struggle to get in to it. I was fortunate in so far as I could get to where I needed with it very quickly. It is now THE most used tool in my box of self management. Just recommend you persevere once you get started.
Very best of luck. Self management of many little understood neurological disorders is the way forward.
Before the past year where it flared drastically, exercise daily was my go to. I did 5 days a week, running, biking, or Pure Barre. (Had 11 years total) In 2018 after long remission of several years it flared to 24/7 allowing me no sleep from moving. Then I did Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation for it on both left & right sides of frontal lobe-that helped me re-gain a normal life. Then I followed up with keto diet and this further helps me. I take things that target my mitochondrial health and that seems to be beneficial for me;). Good luck!
