Glad I found you!

Hello everyone! I am new to this community and so glad I found you. I was diagnosed with FND in June 2017. Went through a year of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Went a whole year without symptoms, feeling great. I exercise 3 times per week at YMCA, do yoga, meditate daily, eat healthy all the things you’re suppose to do, Then 3 months ago some symptoms started coming back, had a non-epileptic seizure a few weeks ago. I’m just so frustrated, feel like I’m going backwards instead making progress. I feel so isolated because I have no one to talk to who really understands what this disorder is truly all about. Looking to contact with people who understand and who are here to support and encourage each other.

Hi! You are never alone with this group on your side. We all understand. glad you had some relief! Sorry about the setback. I have been dealing with this for 5 years now - no relief just worsening symptoms. You have to take each day as it comes and take the tasks that you are able to do as a success for that day! We are all here for you whenever you need to chat, vent, cry - whatever.

Hi , you said you have been having symptoms for five years, do you have them everyday or do they come and go.? What is the longest time you have gone without symptoms? What do you do to manage your symptoms? I’m just frustrated!! I was symptom free for all most a year and felt great now back to square one. Just had another non-eplictic seizure last night, then slept for 12 hours today. Interested in k owing what others have done or tired to manage symptoms.

My symptoms hit the worst patch in July 2018 when I was hospitalized. Since onset I have not been symptom free. Now they are getting Wieser still. In a wheelchair on bad days. Episode twice a week. Just get a bit of strength back and hit again. I went from walking 10 km a day and being healthy to not in an instant. What I have learned from this group is to take each day as it comes and at the end of each day count what you could do today not what you couldn't. It really helps!!

Hi Willie1224

It must be so frustrating for you after having a break from symptoms... mine have never really gone but never as bad as they were a year ago thankfully

You seem like you are really in tune with your body with the yoga etc. I’m hoping to get into tai chi after a recommendation from someone here. In all your upset you have actually given me hope that I may have some remission from this. Doesn’t help you I’m sorry but I agree, it is hard to find people who really understand this
