I don’t know if It is ok to share this link or not on here so please forgive me if it isn’t. I have decided to openly share my story with my work colleagues in the U.K emergency services asking them to become FNDAWARE to help improve understanding and knowledge of FND and NEAD.

Hi there,

Thank you so much for sharing your experience, and as a previous employee with Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, i offer you my greatest respect in the fact that you put your life for others.

I wasn't a Firefighter, as my prolapsed disc put an end to that, but I know that working within the services must have given you great pride.

My wife developed FND in 2011, after collapsing suddenly, aged 34.

Like you, her symptoms are varied and unpredictable, and she had to finish her Hospital job, here in Manchester, in 2012, on health grounds.

I work part-time and help Kim as best as I can.

You're very strong, and obviously musically talented, and we wish you continued happiness and health, and you will get excellent advice on here.

Warmest of wishes always.

Tony and Kim xx

Thank you so much for your lovely kind words.

Thank you also for your service in the fire and rescue service too. I’m so sorry about your pro-lapsed disc.

I’m also so sorry that Kim had to finish her hospital job also at a young age. I wish you both the very best warmest wishes back and yes thank goodness for discovering this forum. A wonderful place to be ;0)

That’s an amazing video and you have a real talent. Thank you for sharing that and showing positive strength from within. You clearly loved your job and I have huge respect for the paramedics and people who keep us safe and save us in all the services.

I am currently not working I’m 38 and had carried on working as a veterinary nurse with my leg dragging behind me but the bouts of lightheadedness have put a stop to that now. I love my job and only started it as my career when I turned 30 I had to really work hard to get to be qualified.

So due to my main talent in life being a tuned to what cats need and desire in life I am setting up a business to go to veterinary practices, catteries and rescue centres to help them create the perfect cat environment. I can work this around bad days and going to be very open with why I can no longer be a veterinary nurse in practice. This is my positive from this and yours is your talent for singing and creating songs.

Can I share your video on my personal Facebook page please?

Hi Susie,

I have a great respect for your profession too and I think your making a rainbow out of your rain idea with your talent is amazing xx Our fur babies are just as important. I had a house bunny for 9 and a half years and when it was time for her to go to sleep I was so thankful to the staff who looked after both of us! I am so sorry that you can’t do this anymore but I think your aspiration and new goal will be fantastic ;0) and is a wonderful idea.

I’m glad you appreciate the video ... you are more than welcome to share it on FB or anywhere you like. I’m not on FB but I believe some of my colleagues and friends who are have - just like the videos and stories other people have made that helped me when I was still trying to get my brain around all this .... the more people it helps to become FND aware or feel less alone or mis understood - the better.

Sending lots of love
