Hi everyone,

Does anybody with FND get a cold like feeling that can suddenly come on and Shivering, shaking also.

My wife had them last night and phoned me at work.

She's had the symptoms last year, and last night her top body half was shaking too.

After 20 minutes it eased off.

Many thanks and a happy 2019 to all you true warriors in life.

Best Wishes.

Tony and Kim xx

I have not experienced that BUT...... a few nights ago I had an attack of different things. What my wife does to help is put an ICE pack on my skin to wake up and shock my brain.....it really works! This time she put it on my face and when she took it off, my face still felt cold even 20 to 30 minutes after. My skin was warm by my touch and hers but my face felt cold where she put it..... Lets just say that if has anything that deals with the 5 senses and motor skills, best thing to say is Its FND it should and could pass.

I have the last few weeks been getting shivers and shakes and some can leave me exhausted. They last for a few seconds but I can get up to ten a night. Mainly at night. I’m seeing my psychologist Monday so hoping to see whether they are part of disassociation or what it is. Not sure if this is the same though Will keep you posted on Monday discussion in case may have some answers

Yes! I generally run hot. I will be in short sleeves and no socks when the rest of the family is wrapped up. I experience both extremes. The brain fog usually hits 1st, then i get the chills. I can have several blankets and still not get warm. Other times I have moments when I feel like I could burst into flames and start shedding clothes. These events can last anywhere from a few minutes to a couple of hours. Rest, and breathing exercises help me to relax through the events.

Your thyroid controls your temperature. I hope you have all had a thyroid panel done, including a check for thyroid antibodies, and a doctor to feel and make sure there are no nodules.

Another thing that is also very important is your iodine level. Many people don’t get enough because they don’t used salt that has iodine added or they think salt is unhealthy. Make sure your salt has iodine added. Pink salt does not and many salts you buy do not. It has to say iodine added. Most doctors will say this isn’t a problem because they mistakenly think fast food uses iodine’s salt...most restaurants and fast food DO NOT use iodized salt. My son had this problem.

Hi, sometimes I can feel like I have a cold, or even the flu. I used to get it regularly, like once every 4 to 6 weeks, in my 20s. It has gradually tapered off to barely at all now. But I do get shaking. My main shaking is in my legs when walking. (But this is very new) Sometimes they go through a "shudder" for a time while sitting/lying. Occasionally I have had my top body "shudder", like when you have a fever, but without the high temp etc.

Don't know if this helps.
