The medication may (or may not) make you feel less anxious about returning to work, but either way that won't change how your body will actually cope. Take good care of yourself, pace carefully, rest when necessary, eat regularly and get a good night's sleep/rest. It's so easy to return to working life and feel pressured to behave like you did before you were ill. If anyone questions that you need to build up slowly, point out that they risk losing you to sickness again, which is worse for everyone. Putting yourself first may not come naturally, but it is vital. I've seen so many people learn that the hard way. Don't doubt yourself, remember what you have already survived! The best of luck. Enjoy it!
Yes, unfortunately, I had bad side effects from sertraline. It made my mind feel "blah"; it was hard for me to think. I constantly wanted to lie down. Antidepressants like sertraline should be first tried on a Friday night or Saturday morning, in case of side effects that affect work performance.
Thanks for your reply. To be honest I haven’t taken them,I have opted for a herbal tablet instead from Superdrug instead and it seems to help.Years ago I was given anti depressants and the side affects were unbearable and it’s made me so wary to take any prescribed-just feel they are a bit strong and the herbal ones really work.Thank you everyone for your replies xx
