Hi, I was just reading your other post, have a lot of you symptoms - maybe a bit further down my road. I am also one who believes worry solves nothing. So i have just sought part/liveable with solutions, lost a lot of working right parts.

About 2-3 years ago breathing went lot wors, enough to say something. So what was I losing now? Started getting pnuemonia twice a year, am generally in hospital once. Could not tell difference between pnuemonia, and breathing getting harder, so GPs would get a bit annoyed (good at body language). So I started waiting till it became obvious there was a problem. (Really laboured beath). Meant once got to thoracic consultants, they listened. they heard parts of my body kept going walkies, till only a bit there (e.g. broken toe recently, hurt about 10-15 minutes. after that, only if tried to put sock on, etc).

They came up with 2 options, either my diapham or intercostal mustal had stopped working. A scan showed it was the later. I had mild sleep apnea already, with this they tried sleep apnea machine. Once I got it as high as my lungs could take, waited to see results. Down to pnuemonia once a year. and when I am unsure, just check my ashma gauge that measures lung capacity. Now my lungs are more tired than low. so go to bed early, give apnoea machine an extra hour, while i listen to/watch stuff. point is, I am back in charge, and that is what we keep losing, and I refuse.

As for swallowing, I was also biting my mouth when ate (to blood point every time)., and 3-4 times a week, I'd suddenly stop being able to swallow. (Joy, what you might have to look forward to). Neurologist (for once right time appointment) did referral to speech therapist. Wish I had done this long time ago. Saw start December, within 2-3 weeks I had pretty much stopped bitting and choking. All for 5 minutes or so of exercises a day, twice a day. And I was surprised at what I couldn't do, like lick my bottom lip. Can, just, now. For stop swollowing: frig water with added ice. works. david, will try you ice trick if I ever need it.

I am now having food go into my throat long before I start to swallow, hopefully she will have another exercise. Att least this set I can do anywhere. Hope this helps

Yes, I have the same problems when my body is gets attacked. It seems to slowly get worse as time goes on. Now I have problems with my bones which are solidifying in my jaw and bending the roots of my teeth. When I chew it is like chewing pea gravel. So I have gone to softer foods diet. There are so many aspects to this disease that just like ski racing, get rid of the fears of what we struggle with to enjoy what we can in our lives. My motto thru this has been Never Give up!! Check out Road To Korea 2018 on facebook. I was just diagnosed a month ago! Cheers
