my husband had a growth removed with biopsy around 4 weeks ago, he's had a little bleeding on and off but it's been daily for around 3/4 days with today's the strongest, has anyone else found this the norm? specialist did think it was cancer but low grade but we havent had the biopsy redults yet.

Deni, if my recent experience of cystoscopy with a small growth being removed from my bladder is anything to go by, that bleeding should have stopped within a short time. Did your husband have a catheter fitted during the op? Also, was he passing blood prior to the op? If it was me, I would be getting that checked out to rule out anything untoward going on. All good wishes to him.......and to you, and do let us know how he gets on.

he wasn't bleeding before procedure and didn't have a catheter afterwards. He did see his GP 2 weeks ago who said wait for results appointment, the appointment is on 26th so that's good. As I have read different timings for things online I thought I'd get peoples actual experiences on here. Thanks for replying I will post again after Wednesday.

hope you are doing well 👍

Deni, perhaps someone else will post from their experience but meanwhile it's reassuring to hear that the follow-up appointment is in a few days - hopefully you will get some answers and they are good ones. Thank you, I am blessed to be one of the lucky ones as it turned out to be a benign polyp. The waiting is the worst.

so pleased yours was benign, my husband was told by the consultant at his first procedure he was sure it was a low grade cancer so the results will tell us the grade..... or even better he was mistaken

Fingers crossed, Deni.

Keep at them for the results, I had a tumor removed December 2015 with the results at the beginning of January 2016 followed with a scan. I had daily bleeds from September 2017 and a TURBT which sealed some leaking blood vessels and have had only occasional bleeds since. Currently I have no active cancer in the bladder but still being treated for secondaries in the lungs which is stable at present. I am attending the Belfast Cancer Center who's care is excellent. It is a waiting experience for results, keep a positive spirit. Hope the results are clear. God bless.

thank you for sharing your experience it's good to know what can and does happen in this situation the mind alone can run away but hearing how people go through this helps. we will be asking questions on Wednesday 😊

I am wondering about some details....was it removed during a surgery or in office? Did he have a catheter? I am 70 and had alot of cancer in my bladder which was removed and a cath was put in me before i came out of surgery. The cath stayed in 3 days- during that time the blood went from dark red to light red. My cancer never went through muscle wall. My surgery was in 2012, second look surgery just after that. Am on 6th round of BCG infusions and have to complete 7.

it was removed during second cystoscopy with a general anaesthetic no catheter and allowed home after an hour.

well we have had answered prayers today, we had my husband's appointment and the Dr said the tumour was benign.. Hallelujah .... my husband said you said low grade cancer and he replied I know and said look at the pictures he was as surprised as we were relieved. So another check in 3 months to make sure it's healed ok, he wasn't worried about the bleeding. Thank you for listening and sharing on this post and for friends and family who prayed for my husband. I can only pray you all are blessed with peace and healing. x x

when i had my first 2 BC surgeries, not done thru a biopsy, my urine went from dark red to a sort of light rose color....it went on for several days longer than your husband. Have been in treatment since 2012- there was alot of cancer, this the BCG treatments for this long. My surgeon told me if its very small, there are no BCG infusions. Keep checking with Dr if this goes on.

will keep an eye on things in the future as I said he has another cystoscopy in a couple of months which will give us more information, the bleeding seems to have stopped mostly, his job is 12hr shifts and it seemed to come on more after a few shifts so whether it was being on his feet for long stretches???? I hope you go from strength to strength and feel good and positive about things I know how draining situations can make you feel, I will remember you in my prayers 🙏 thank you for your reply
