My husband had same as you with op on 8th Dec 2010,it wasn't until after Christmas that he began to feel prperly well again. He was followed up with BCG Immunatherapy over an extended period but here we are in 2016 and after his cystoscopy check in June this year he was told he has a lovely clear bladder,do hope all goes well for you, many good wishes xx
Thank you that is so nice to hear
Blessings that things continue x
i await with baited breath to find the results from the biopsies .
Hi Anniemouse I had a tumour removed in April and a dose of chemo, so I know how you feel . It does take time just take each day as it comes. I still get tired but am returning to work in sept ( I work in a school) on advice of work and doctor am doing 2 weeks of 3 hours a day then 2 weeks of 4 hours a day . We will then review to see if I stay at the same hours or up them again. Keep positive all the best x
From the day of diagnosis, cystoscopy in office, tumor removed in the hospital,
biopsy 2 weeks later and cystogram 1 week later it took me 3 months to feel like my old self.
I have had 3 BCG treatments out of 6. Side effects not pleasant but I soldier through it.
I absolutely could not abide the catheter. Stay positive and I know you will feel better
soon.
It is good to hear positive news , I feel a little better but get tired easily ,
I am due a major operation for my crohns disease in October so this is affecting me by not knowing the severity and the outcome .
I try to stay positive but it is not easy and i find i become emotional at the slightest thing .
This is a horrid disease and makes one look at life so differently
Take care and continued good progress

Hi ,each person responds differently.Take one day at a time.It does get better.
I hope you feel better soon. I felt very knocked out too after the TURBTs and now the chemo. Let your body tell you what it wants and sleep or relax if that helps (and you can). It's awful waiting for results, my fingers are crossed for you. I hope you have support from friends and family that really helps too.
All the best
I was diagnosed with Bladder cancer in 2014 and was told it was an aggressive type cancer. I had the tumor removed and the doctor wanted to give me chemo which I heavily declined and opted for the BCG treatments. Too many horror stories with being treated with chemo. I gather the BCG treatment should be the first course of action and if that does not work you can opt for chemo or bladder removal depending on severity or an alternative type of treatment which western medicine doctors will tell won't work. The first year of BCG treatment was manageable and the second year my bladder could not tolerate it anymore although it did the job! Thank God. However, I did end up with cystitis (very bad) and the last biopsy also showed blisters in my bladder as well as some calcification. Being a woman it was not only very painful to urinate (urethra), but it also affected the outer vaginal area. I researched like crazy and found a salve to heal the outer vaginal area which took months (no fun!). I watch my diet... less meat (once or twice a week), lots of vegetables, selective fruits, alkaline or spring water. I went cold turkey on all sugar and anything that contains sugar, stay away from food or drinks that irritate the bladder. Some people think I have gone overboard, but my body, my life. I try to educate myself on the subject matter as much as I can and don't just accept what is handed down to me by the doctors or be at their mercy as I have found many are limited in what they know. It becomes my responsibility to seek the information (thank goodness for the Internet!) and ask questions.. ask, ask and ask. There many alternative treatments. I found that Frankincense in the Mediterranean countries has been used successfully for treating bladder cancer. Of course, the FDA would take 20 years before they would accept such a thing. I don't understand and it bothers me as to why the USA is so backwards when it comes to medical treatment or alternative treatment compared to many other parts of the world that is not as developed as the USA. Baffling! Anyway.. off my soap box.
