Preclinical (but working at least in vivo)...but very very damn positive! I really like when I can come out with something like this to start the weekend!
Researchers at Hannover Medical School have discovered Adhibin, a synthetic compound that blocks cancer metastasis by inhibiting Rho GTPase signaling.
Unlike traditional cancer treatments, Adhibin paralyzes tumor cells without killing healthy ones, preventing their migration and attachment to new tissues.
The compound works by targeting myosin motor proteins, which regulate cell movement. Tested in tumor cells, organoids, and murine models, Adhibin successfully halted metastasis.
When removed, tumor cells regained mobility, confirming its reversible action. Researchers are now developing Adhibin variants for further preclinical studies, potentially paving the way for new anti-metastatic therapies.
