where is the study details like the stromal cell proteins?

“The researchers found that certain proteins produced by stromal cells can promote the growth and spread of cancer cells. These proteins, acting as molecular messengers, may stimulate the cancer cells to proliferate and move to other parts of the body, ”

Awesome article! I read through it several times as there are many gems in the article. It is a huge article so to many points to cut and paste.

Worth reading but I warn you it is in depth.

Also nothing we/us warriors can do about it in our lifetime.

just a small snippet of this article.

“In summary, here we provide a molecular compendium of mesenchymal changes during PCa progression in genetically engineered mice that generalize to humans. Specifically, in the early phases of prostate carcinogenesis, we provide evidence that the TMPRSS-ERG translocation reprograms the mesenchyme which in turn may sustain progression. In advanced PCa models we found transcriptional mesenchymal programs linked to metastasis, some of them in common with the bone microenvironment to which PCa cells metastasize. The findings from those murine models have been validated and confirmed using publicly available and internally generated scRNA-seq data from ERG+ human tumors and PCa bone metastases. Collectively, these data from both mice and humans present clear evidence of significant shifts in stromal composition that accompany PCa progression, which are influenced by genotype-specific factors. These findings highlight the substantial role of mesenchymal changes as contributors to PCa progression and phenotypic diversity, emphasizing an impact that is more substantial than what has been detailed in existing literature.”

I gave up after the abstract! 😂 also because it's very interesting but not yet "actionable"

Correct! It’s easy to get lost in the weeds when we have to stay focused on actionable

Oh well let’s also have some dream:

Ok i dug into the weeds a little more and found myself following CCR6 receptor and it’s cytokine CCL20 and how this cytokine is the most influential player in immune suppression in the tumor micro environment. I followed one of the references to an amazing article which shows CCR6 and CCL20 is a well known inflammatory cytokine in many diseases including cancer. There are many inhibitors of CCL20 and it’s receptor. In this article they have a great table of drugs and botanical inhibitors.

SO THAT IS ACTIONABLE!

Two botanical phyto constituents are EGCG and Gallotannin . EGCG is best Known from green tea extract, and gallotannin I know it from juglans nigra (black walnut) green husks or spring buds.

I have juglans nigra spring buds already in DMSO which i used to take orally with a bunch of other powders like egcg, ginger, sylamarin, curcumin etc…

read this for getting started on learning about the pharma drugs already made from those botanicals for arthritis

EGCG I am already taking

Sometimes just taking phytoconstuant is not enough for cancer like ours but trying to find a way to enhance it either by making it more bioavailable or through drug repurposing

trying to follow a trial, so I take green tea extract + high available curcumin (novasol) + resveratrol twice per day, and sulfuraphane as well...and calcium + mag + vit D3 and K but on doctor's order because I am on zometa

As herbalist did you know that red yeast rice is basically lovastatin? My doctor, after discussing some trials, decided to prescribe me some atorvastatin because anyways it looks like potential benefits are way higher than potential risks. But he gave me only 10mg per day. I don’t know if I should increase my levels of statins by adding some red yeast rice
