With all the caveats, like it was on men with prostate cancer but under active surveillance, so no metastasis,...
but still...
A study investigated the impact of a high omega-3, low omega-6 diet with fish oil supplements on 100 men with early-stage prostate cancer who chose active surveillance. Over one year, the group following the diet showed a significant 15% decrease in the Ki-67 index, a marker of cancer cell growth, compared to a 24% increase in the control group.
This suggests the diet might slow cancer progression. While other tumor characteristics remained unchanged, the Ki-67 reduction is promising as it's linked to better prognosis. Larger trials are needed to confirm these findings and explore long-term benefits.
