December 2008, biopsy prostate indicated cancer with a PSA 13. Have a Gleason of 7. February 2009, had prostate remove robotic surgery. PSA dropped to .01 for 8 years until August of 2017, PSA rose to .8. I had 39 sessions of Radiation. PSA dropped to .01 until May of 2019 rose to .6. October 22, 2019, went to UCLA, I had a 68G PSMA Pet Scan. Indicated active cancer cells. Meeting with doctor in a week to decide on radiation or not. I am assuming I will be get radiation. I will post our decision and results.

Detour before meeting doc, fell off 12’ ladder landing on concrete. Titanium rods broke within 4 months, got sepsis in next operation.

PSA rose to 1.7. New OMs, ran every test again. Started on Lupron 7/17, so far, okay.

I hope the best for all people fighting any disease, be strong.

If you had radiation therapy once, you can't have it again in the same location. Or are you speaking of salvage radiation to a different location of the body?

I’m waiting to speak with my doctor on the 13th. It’s my understanding the radiation will be cyber knife types

Looks like head Radiation Oncologist at Hoag says he can radiate the live cancer cells, even though the cells are in a tough position. I will know more next week. Thanks for asking

Sorry to hear this. You don’t need more radiation, you need Lupron. It’s not fun but it will get to the cancer cells that surgery & radiation have failed to reach. Please talk to your Drs about this. I had 10-12 Drs tell me I had to get my prostate removed. Gleason 8 at 45 years old. PSA was 15. Found two Drs that told me if I would have had it removed, I’d be right back there doing radiation & Lupron. I only did 28 sessions of radiation & 6 months (so far) of Lupron. I’m now a .04 PSA & still have my prostate. I’ll be 51 in March. It’s been working for me so far.

Could have happened, during my fall I was more concerned with not having the chainsaw close to me, when I hit the ground

Thanks for asking
