Can anyone please tell me the difference between Fibro & Lupus? Many thanks
They are two totally different diseases, Toby - though they do share quite a few symptoms.
The two websites below should tell you what you need to know
lupusuk.org.uk/what-is-lupu...
fibromyalgia-associationuk....
I hope this is helpful.

Many thanks Wendyjoy and Moffy. I have looked up some of the info you have given me, will check others later. I am awaiting a Rheumatology appointment to see what I have wrong with me. The problem is that I have symptoms of both Fibro and Lupus. I guess I will have to wait and see what happens at the appointment.
Once again many thanks. Regards
I am currently being tested for lupus and a lot of the diagnosis is by bloods. Lupus is an autoimmune condition, where I understand it can turn on the body and organs in extreme cases. The other symptoms can be like fibro.
I know if I am diagnosed then I will still have myofascial pain and probably fibro too.
Your rhematologist should do lots of bloods to rule anything else out. I had 10 pots taken out and it came back with sticky blood and a couple of other indicators for lupus and I have now been referred to haematologist for further investigation as well as another 6 pots taken. Lupus had not been anything I considered but a lot of things do fit.
Hope your appt goes well and ask for the lupus indicator bloods be taken if you are worried.
I had two of lupus marker tests show up positive, but since then have had a load more tests and my rheumy said it is not lupus, as others have said a lot of similarities but once I went through symptoms in detail, I could see it was fibro and not lupus, good luck! Lucykris
