yes and my throat feels like it's sticking together.I wake up choking and find it difficult to swallow food,I sometimes choke on it.

This feeling in the throat can be caused by tightening of the muscles in the throat Amanda which is quite common with Fibromyalgia. It tends to ease as the day goes on. I have this myself especially first thing in the morning.

Yes and can add a pretty much permanent sore throat as well as swallowing problems and chocking on food :(

sorry - I meant choking!

Yes me too, had a few choking episodes, one very bad and I thought my number was up. I take Lansoprazole for acid reflux, which helps. Somewhere I saw that the thyroid can enlarge inwards, which would account for the food sticking when swallowing. I don't know how you go about having this checked out, we have doctors that think we are hypocondriacs. Certainly mention this to doctor, he can give you something for the acid at least.

I take Lansoparazole for reflux due to a haitus hernia. I also have a lot of tissue damge in the throat so find swallong very difficult so feels like a permanent lump in the throat. I hope you find relief soon xxxxx

Many people with Fibro do also get prescribed anti-inflammatories (despite Fibro not being inflammatory) and these bring an increased risk of reflux, gastritis and ulcers.

Omeprazole can help to reduce the acid in the stomach whilst protecting it too, this also helps reduce reflux and protects against ulcers etc.

Problems with swallowing are also common with Fibromyalgia. If you type the word "swallowing" into the search bar at the top on the right, then click enter, you will see lots of discussions come up we have had on the subject here in the forum. You may find these helpful.

Hope this helps.
