Well it is 3.30 in the morning again and I have been up and down from my bed again!! Been to the loo a few times.sick of keep looking at the clock. It isn't getting any easier. It is 16 yrs now and the legs are still restless ........I think I have restless brain syndrome too....!!!! Flaming form after form crap after crap with this change in the system isn't helping is it.?? How many of us have had flare ups of the condition since all this with Atos started?. My hand is straight up on that one ....well it would be if my shoulders weren't so sore. I can barely keep things ticking over this year.have cried so many times with frustration and confusion........feared losing my home ..cold and hungry at times,,,,,I got ill....I was in full time employment when it happened.......I got ill !!.........This is not a life choice Mr Cam... its a terrible sentence of pain and misery.......and no matter what your Gestapo style minions write on their forms I am ILL and un-employable..............................................

Hi, I have been awake since 3.30 as well, I was at my uncles funeral yesterday, came home and packed for holiday so was shattered yet still only got four hours sleep, it's driving me crackers at the moment.

I Put bbc news on, they repeat things so much it bores me into submission and I drop off again.

Hope you have a better day

Morning everyone.... Restless brain is deffinately worse that restless legs... I usually sleep with my nightly cocktail of meds but had major stress at home last 2 days so every med decides ooohhh now she really needs sleep lets have a few nights holiday and promptly packed their bags and have gone leaving me unable to switch off going over the day again and again which is stupid cos it's happened and lying awake won't change it and I am too tired to think of a way to make it better.

Hey ho will go get coffee and hopefully bounce back

I heard those groans......sorry I WILL be back

;)

everything i read is me, it's ..... i won't swear, its been 30 + yrs since i have had a full night's sleep, not a day without pain somewhere at the moment it's neck, hands and legs not to mention my tummy, damn, that's my rant over, have a good day everyone

I'm haivng some real benefit from a free phone app of all things....

Theres a Qi gong meditation app that has audio relaxation on it.

Its stopping my brain from constantly reviewing my day and problem solving.

I've been up aat 3.30 / 4 sometimes 5 am before now. I still got 8 hours sleep but couldn't fall asleep.

These little audios are 20 minutes and I'm pretty much asleep by the end.

I've also found a Qi gong free video (shibashi) which covers 18 simple movements. I've been trying to do that just before bed too instead of having the lights of TV and computer in my eyes. (although I have to have the computer on to copy the movements but its different to concentrating on written blogs and FB)

If I'm really stuck, Juicing half a lettuce is really effective. sounds weird and I I mix with a carrot to make it drinkable but it does work. I can't drink it all the time though cos the cellulose isn't good in regular quantities. Safe natural and effective though.

Pain wise I only ever take a couple of paracetamol....and use warmth.... fleece blankets under and over and a hotwater bottle

Hi stepper, have you tried an all night under blanket. Mine has two main heat setting a bed prewarm and an all night which has 6 settings.

Can't tell you what make mine is, label missing. If I wake up cold can up or down the setting. and vice versa. Would not be without it.

If you buy one make sure the blanket switch is on the side nearest socket, whhen the blanket is correct side up on the bed.

Lettuce ?? thats an unusual one, I might give that a try, I cannot take the Meds most of the Fibro fighters are on ....I seem to react horrendously to them so its paracetamol for me too. I do take CoQ10 and selenium they do seem to help me. Have just recently started a chronic pain course and received some relaxation Cd going to give that a try on my next sleepless spell. Got a great pair of fleece PJs off my daughter too so I am hoping that a bit of everything might induce better nights.....lots of ZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz

Have you tried amitriptyline? It has helped me get a full nights sleep. Still have all the pain etc but at least out of it for 6 hours+

I have been Taking Amitriptyline for a few months and it does help. I am having a flare up at the moment and been back to Docs.

He has told me to double my dose of Gabapentine for a week and Tripple it the following week if that doesnt help with the joint pains etc.

Hello my poor sleepless friends,

yes, me too. Sleep 1 to 2 hrs and up. I visit the loo so much, thought I might camp out down there.

One thing that some times helps, but not always. This is an occupational therapist recommendation. Get yourself as comfortable as you can. Next think about each part of your body, try and clear the mind, just concentrate on your toes, then feet, then lower leg, knee, thighs, lower back, tummy, shoulders, arms, hands and then neck and head. Breathing deeply in and all the way out, doing so slowly. Now when you have done this try and think of the most relaxing place you have either been to and loved, or imagine a place you would like to go to. Keep deep breathing and you will be amazed it does relax you and help you get off to sleep. It does take a lot of perseverance, but it does work. What may also help is play some low level relaxing music.

I do this sometimes in the afternoons or when I come to bed. I was very sceptical at first but when it does work, I can get a little sleep. With so much going on in our lives, fighting the DLA, benefits agency etc does not help. They don't seem to realise those of use who are genuine, their treatment works to out detriment. It makes us worse, can't they see that. Forgot its a computer who tells us Yes or No. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh...............

Hi

Thanks for the tips I have tried the breathing and it does sometimes help but then on the odd occasion it seems like something else. It is like my eyes are bursting out and the most horrible head - not quite a head ache but a dull horrible feeling. And a sort of whole body jittering - very hard to explain and the usual aches and pains it just won't let me sleep but then after a couple or three nights of this I suddenly sleep like a log
