Support group is for those not expected to work again or in the near future.

Work related activity is for those able to perform some work with support.

Hi rosehip,

I believe if your put in the work related group, your money will stop after a year, and have to do some sort of work, and if your put into the support group you are not expected and not able to work, i'm sure thats what i have read on here, hope this helps,

Hi, if you are in support Group then you do not have to attend Job Centre to look at ways to prepare you for a return to work, and it is not means tested after a year, so even if you have savings you will still receive ESA . If you are in the Work Related Activity Group then you do have to attend meetings at Job Centre and after a year it becomes means tested so that you only receive the money if you don't have savings or other income. The Support Group is meant for the more seriously ill people. There are a list of 16 Support group Criteria and if you meet the conditions of any of those you should be put into the support Group and they aren't point based.

Hope that makes sense x

Just been for the assessment with my sister, be prepared a lot of the questions she was asked were about mental health, despite her having crohn's disease and being in and out of hospital constantly.

Best of luck x x
