Can anyone tell me where I might be successful in buying an elbow support. I have tennis elbow on top of everything else, and the pain is driving me crazy!!! My GP has said to try an Elbow support and if that doesn't work then its a steroid and lidnocaine injection aghhhhhh

Hello Susie, I sympathise, I have Tennis and Golfer's Elbow in both my arms caused by lifting heavy machinery at work for over ten years. Fortunately typing doesn't hurt, thank goodness.
The supports I buy are called -
Neo-G Tennis/Golf Elbow Support-Neoprene Physio & Sport Supports- Breathable Model - you can buy them direct from Amazon. They actually warm the injury and help ease the pain very quickly after putting the supports on.
Chemists also sell elbow supports but they are usually only fabric and I haven't found them to be any good or helpful at all. Waste of money most of them - they are mainly for sportsmen and women.
Hope you manage to buy something that helps you.

Had tennis and golfers elbow for 5 years now. I have unfortunately never found any supports helpful. Only thing that has helped has been the cortisone injections. Yes they hurt - but not for long. Alas even they stopped working, so last November, in desperation, I had tendon release surgery. Now I am in even more pain than before. Finally my doctor 'joined the dots' with this and my other pains, and diagnosed fibromyalgia. She then told me my elbows will never get better. Now although advised to use ice packs, I find the only thing to give relief is a heat pad or hot water bottle. Hope you find something that works, good luck.

I forgot to mention I had 3 cortisone injections, they didn't work for me. I suppose we are all different. The supports have worked the best for me, but years later I still have both Tennis and Golfer's Elbows in both my arms. I was told my elbows won't get better, I have accepted and got used to them now and seldom wear the supports. I find my Fibro painkillers help.
I sleep with my elbows on hot water bottles when they are especially bad, this helps me sleep. I never had surgery, I was told it wouldn't work.
It's interesting Maladjusted that we both have the same conditions in our elbows and yet found relief through different things. It just goes to show we really are all different.
yes indeed. I wish someone had told me that the surgery wouldn't work. Could have saved myself a lot of trouble, as it is much more painful now. Alas cannot have Fibro medication. A bout of H-Pylori some years ago left me with a damaged stomach lining. I find anti inflammatories and anti depressants both cause pain and stomach upsets.
I do find thehot water bottle soothing, but if I use them in bed - they trigger off the night sweats Ain't life grand?
To be honest Libby I really don't fancy the idea of an injection in my elbow, I have had them in my knees and hip and that was bad enough!!

Hi Susie. I find tubi grip( think thats what they call it, the elastic bandage ) I find really useful because they support the whole arm and if I use them at night it makes my day so much less painful. best wishes Cazx
poundland ive got one for my elbow and knee and they even come in a special wraparound blue one.they do fit well and help loads.x
Hiya, I've had several different elbow supports, and the best yet is from Kleeneze, if you don't get a catalogue, I think you should find them on line, It's just a narrow strap, the wider one's roll down, and it has a magnet to put where the pain is worst. It goes below your elbow, I have the same for my knees, and they by far the best I've found over the years, I've had surgery on both my elbows, so believe me I've tried a few.
Hi, Susie. I have to wear splints on BOTH wrists. Boots and most chemist prices exstortionate!(or you know expensive!!) But I went on line and literally managed to get 2 for what chemist wanted for one. Just google in elbow support and I am sure you will find a site that will have something. Good luck. Sue X

You can get the elbow clasps from any physiotherapy department - for free, if you can get your doctor to refer you. I have two which I wear when driving. They don't get rid of the pain, just make it bit more bearable

I'm just over 2 weeks out recovering from surgery for carpap tunnel. Had my right hand done about 10 years ago, this came on very suddenly, very severe following flare up of RA in my ring finger.

The supports at Poundland didn't work for me and my arms got so "sweaty and itchy", I had to take them off. Elbow supports bought on Ebay were good though
