Just spoke to the benefit office about applying for a free tax disc and the lady said she would send me an excemption certificate, So I'm hopeing that does mean I'm entitled to it. It will help us out financly no-end especially as we are waiting to move into an adapted bungalow which will need refurbishing etc.,

hi how do you qualify for that then ? i have got a blue badge so do you jus call up or do yo hve to be on DLA and other stuff ?

hi diddle, yes you have to have the high rate mobility componante. there are conditions about use of vehicals, but you just have to ring the disability dept and they check to see if you qualify.

yes your right I've struggled for nearly 2yrs the last yr without being able to have even a shower have to make do with a strip wash off my carers which nowhere near makes you feel clean : ( so any little extras makes such a difference, now all i need is an adapted property

Yep - if you get higher rate mobility DLA you are automatically entitled to a free tax disc.
