Hi,I have severe rhumatoid arthritis and have medication. For 1 year now I have been having different pains and are being tester for fibromyalgia by my GP.
Does it sound like fibromyalgia :
extreme full body pain , muscles ache , body burning at night , pins and needles in arms and legs, feeling freezing all the time , vertigo, unable to move at all in the night ( no strength ), neck pain
I have had rhumatoid arthritis for 20 years and I know the symptoms I have been having for last year are not RA .
I know you are not doctors but just wonder if you have same symptoms.
Thank you

Hi, your symptoms could point towards fibromyalgia - the core symptoms for a diagnosis are widespread pain, fatigue, unrefreshing sleep and cognitive dysfunction
it definitely could be fibromyalgia, it took a while for me to be finally diagnosed and although there is no cure it was a relief to be told I wasn’t going mad.
I also have rheumatoid arthritis so you will know having arthritis they out a lot of your symptoms down to that but fibromyalgia is a whole new level of pain and symptoms in my book!
Yes that's right the pains are different. As well as having bad joint I have now extra weak body muscles all over and very cold all the time.... I do hope the doc will admit quickly that it is fibromyalgia and not let it drag any longer . I physically can't cope with the pains anymore 😞
Hi there, I see you have been a member since 2013 and this is your first post so let me wish you a warm welcome.
You say your GP is testing you for for fibromyalgia. May I ask what test they are doing. I only ask because there is no known test as yet for fibromyalgia.
Sadly there is no cure yet either for fibromyalgia. Treatments like exercise , CBT and pain clinics to name a few have helped some.
Again there is medication available for fibro from a GP. All options need to be discussed with your doctor. And not all meds help people with fibromyalgia.
Sadly everything is trial and error. What may help one person may not help everyone.
Yes I know what you mean I'm 68 and health problems continue to give. 40+years with fibro. You would have thought I'd paid my dues by now. But there seems no retirement from fibro 🤣
Hi, have you tried Warrier Balm and/or Muscle Magic, helps with Fibro and other chronic pain. Really has helped me, albeit took a while to learn best ways to use it. Ask on their support group, don’t think I can name it here. Hope it’s ok to put that here. Sorry can’t remember if I can or not, Fibro fog is soooo bad.
