hello I’m new here thanks for this awesome support network. Have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I’m struggling a lot esp with work. Had anyone been successful getting income protection from their insurance?

Any advice? Do doctors agree to fill in the forms? I am seeing both gp and rheumatologist! I’m in Australia. Thanks

Hi there, to be honest I had never heard of this. But after reading up on it Insurance providers will look at fibromyalgia differently, some will be more open to your application than others.

This is based on the UK providers. Australia providers will have their own rules I'm sure.

I guess it will depend on how badly your fibromyalgia effects your day to day life. Maybe you could google it up for Australia and read what they have to say. Good luck x
