I weaned myself off of duloxetine.. I was only on low dose . But oh my I feel awful now ,mood OK just pain everywhere .
Duloxetine and fibro.: I was prescribed... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
Duloxetine and fibro.
Hello, you said when you took the pills they did not help with your fibro pain. So I am not sure coming off them would have made your pain worse.
May I suggest been a little over anxious about the meds and palpations may have caused your fibro to have flared up.
Mention it to your GP when you see him/her. There are other medications they can try. I hope you find something to help you that you can tolerate soon xx

hi I was prescribed duloxetine for fibromyalgia and degenerative back disorder and was really ill from them. Initially they were great m, was astonished how well they worked but after about two weeks I started to become ill after taking and sweating profusely, pain returned tenfold. My gp took me off them. Back on amitryptaline now
hi Jerkylegs4 @
I cannot answer you directly… I shall only respond regarding my own experience…
1. Like you I also have fibro since 2014, however I am confirm diabetic type 2 since December 2008, but apparently I was borderline diabetic all my life as I came from a diabetic hereditary Family since both grandparents side.
2. I use to be on Prozac for my severe depression for many years, ptsd, car hijacking’s and numerous other things since my childhood
3. In 2015 a psychiatrist put me on duloxitine, I had horrible side effects at the time, I threw them away myself, my then gp put me back on Prozac, Prozac is the only anti depressant that gave me the feeling of contentment and inner peace. That’s just my experience.
4. In December 2019 I had a sever pain attack on my hips, the consultant put me back on duloxitine…. Again I went to gp and ask to be put on Prozac
5. Last year went to see the same consultant he then put me on duloxitine & topiramate ( provided you not lactose intolerant) he explained to me suffering from all the things I do and diabetic neuropathy, it’s just a matter of time then I shall have no feel what’s so ever in my legs and feet, keep in mind I am already bedbound …. Well I build up on a low dose of Topamax/ Topiramate and since I still get mild migraines from the duloxitine, but is more bareble then originally…
6. With result the burning sensation in my legs has disappeared…
I wish you all the best, but if you are diabetic, please try it once more.
As you can see, I tried duloxitine three times and now I am on it … never give up hope, or like someone else said, maybe there is something else, but if you diabetic also, most unfortunately there is only duloxitine. But then start of with the mildest doze, like I did , and now I am on the strongest doze. Very good luck on your health. Remember health ALWAYS comes FIRST. XX
