I’m totally losing it over a lost ring

I know it sounds daft with all our other problems but I need to vent my feelings. Haven’t told my husband yet and I’m dreading it. I can’t sleep, can’t eat, feeling nauseous and my head hurts trying to figure out what I did with it. I can’t trust my thoughts in trying to trace what I did with it. I’m trying to keep a level head over it’s just a ring so why can’t I keep calm ?

Hello, it’s horrible when we cannot place something or it gets lost and I am hoping soon you will find it, try and sit down over a cuppa and let it out and say I will try and gradually retrace my steps as you will feel totally worn out and perhaps need some rest for awhile. I had a lovely ring in my wardrobe and one day I went too put it on and it had gone🙁we have our suspicion’s but we cannot prove anything , when my hubbie told me what he had spent I was gutted as it was a one off but it s the thought that it had been lifted and silly we had not insured it. It took me along while too even wear any jewellery again as it was a reminder, Fingers crossed I shall see a post saying you have found it, good luck xx

that’s terrible that someone took it. I know that’s not the case with mine. I’m hoping it will turn up somewhere if I’ve not thrown it out by accident. And I know what you mean about wearing any jewellery again.

gosh no someone went in your wardrobe that is creepy, specially if someone you knew had half inched.

may be able to claim on home insurance probably not for full amount, some have a limit, if had a picture, perhaps could even report to police, it may be in a pawn shop somewhere just waiting for you to find it.

That be horrid to not trust anyone in your home again.

gentle hugs.

when lost mine it was found under seat in car, not sure how that happened, perhaps was when took jumper off, check the fridge most things are put in the fridge including gf crackers, and the tooth paste, whoops

just found some tomato seed in a bag in freezer is that odd?

perhaps when your asleep it will magically appear in minds eye,

in mean time would sieve the cuppa, check the mixing bowl, and under sofa in case any pet has moved it on your behalf, at worst ensure any pets motions are watched for shiny things

gentle hugs

It's a horrible feeling, isn't it. Good luck - I hope it turns up. If it helps, you are definitely not alone. I have lost a key for my garage. It's one of the ones you need to send away to have cut - so a massive pain. And I remember leaving the kitchen with it in my hand to 'put it away'. That was about 3 months ago and despite emptying every drawer and cupboard, checking all the pockets on everything I have ever worn I can't find it. It feels like it's just out of reach in my memory... sooooo frustrating.

Oh, how upsetting, but everyone loses things from time to time. My worst over the years have been my engagement ring and most recently the bracelet my husband bought me for our 30th wedding anniversary - that one didn’t even last 6 months!

If keeping this secret from your husband is making you more anxious then tell him. While you are so anxious you are less likely to be able to think or see straight to find it. You know how sometimes you can look straight at something in a drawer and not see it, maybe he can help look for it too.

I really do hope you find it soon, chances are it is somewhere in the house and you will come across it when you are not looking for it. I know rings are precious, but at the end of the day they are things. Your health is more important than any object, please try not to let yourself be so sick with worry.

Take care x

Tell the partner, I always found that the dread was always worse than the actual event. A friend of mine was in the same boat, lost his wedding ring, got a new one made and then found out his beloved had found the original one in the shower. The new one is on a necklace round wifey's neck, how come?? lol

you’ll find it eventually. I had a lovely surprise a few weeks ago. Changed handbags, putting stuff in handbag I was going to use and found over $100 in it! 😂 hadn’t used this bag for two years.
