I've read that a lot of people find things like yoga and tai chi helpful. How can I get into this? What resources do you use?

How to get into yoga?
Hi Exploring Panda. Gentle movement & exercises are good for fibromyalgia. If you have access to the internet it should be easy to find a yoga class near you or visit your local sports centre. When you join a class mention to the teacher you have fibro & they should be able to recommend movements for you. There are also different types of yoga so make sure you find one for beginners.

I don't know about Yoga, but Tai Chi is a low impact , slow moving exercise for which you only need loose comfortable clothing. Ask in your local library if there is a Tai Chi group in your locality and give the instructor a call.
Yoga will probably also be also be available through the library too.
Pacing the yoga or tai chi, like all physical treatments may be a major problem. In normal classes I can only do 20% of yoga in 5 minute stints and 10% of tai chi in 1 minute stints, but maybe your fibro isn't that severe. Instead I learnt 20-30 back yoga exercises from a dvd with book. Aside from that I'd use youtube for all of this alone, because I can pace better without others around me. What is good to motivate the healthy is an additional trigger for me to overdo it and sometimes make me feel bad about being able to do less than others.
