Hello, I wonder if doc could refer you to a dermatologist as it’s all year round and must be very uncomfortable for you . A simple test might give you some answers x
Hi Jade. I know we can’t recommend or advertise products on here and everyone is different. I have very sensitive skin and was brought up on Nivea being the cure all! I can’t use it now and am always very mindful of additives, preservatives etc. The least ingredients in any skin creams, the better although I do tend to try various raw organic butters that you can buy for a fraction of the cost of expensive creams and lotions. Some are rather gritty but can be melted, mixed with other oils like olive, almond etc and cool them quickly in the fridge. I avoid anything with petrochemicals and lanolin (only because wool irritates my skin). I used to bathe and wash my hair every day before going to work in the olden days! I now just top and tail most days and only shower on a day when I feel I can manage it. I’ve started using shampoo and conditioning bars and have found a shower gel that I use as hand wash which my husband uses too and we buy it in 5 litre (plastic 🙈) bottles and decant it into smaller bottles. It’s one I’ve found that doesn’t make me itch and is a very delicate rose scent. I used to make all my own but don’t have the energy now. One brand I have found, at last that I can seem to use most of their products is Sukin. I use the cleanser, use food grade rose water as a toner and Sukin moisturiser. I suppose it’s middle of the range, cost wise but it’s all trial and error. Someone suggested a dermatologist and I would definitely try to see one but some of the older petrochemical based creams didn’t suit me. An ex-work colleague had light therapy which worked for her psoriasis. I hope I haven’t broken any rules on here but rashes could also be caused by medication as well and there’s nothing’s worse than itchy rashes.
I wish you all the best and fingers crossed you can find something that helps soon. Nic xx
I keep my showers down to 1 minute, hardly any soap, softly patting my skin dry.
