Help with LDN?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has any information on LDN? I live in wales uk and was wondering if it is something a regular GP would prescribe? I wanted to ask for your opinions before asking the GP as they can often be negative to patients that do there own research and suggest medications. I’m not feeling well enough for negative responses from medical professionals as I’ve had this condition 20 years and pretty exhausted with being made to feel like an idiot. I’ve seen a lot of drs with attitude!! ( oh and some great ones too hehe)

I think you can only get LDN from a private prescription but others on the forum will know. If you put LDN in search function others have asked about it on here.

more correct to say opposite of fentanyl as it is an opioid antagonist

I would suggest contacting the Ldn research Trust or Dicksons Chemist in glasgow (they post to all over UK)

I know they used to have an information sheet you could print off and take to your gp.

When I was taking it, my gp would not write me an nhs prescription but was happy to write me a private one, which meant I only paid for the actual ldn

Thank you so much for the reply x that’s really helpful 👍🏻 You said you were taking it so does that mean you stopped?hope u don’t mind me asking what your experience was with it. I may be seeing it as a miracle drug? It’s so helpful to get someone’s real experience. Thanks again x

I took it for about 8 years, and only stopped because I started getting nausea as a side effect when I started menopause, otherwise I'd probably still be on it

For me, it didn't take the pain away - but it turned down the pain dial to a manageable level. It was part of getting my pain levels under control enough to allow me to return to work part time

It doesn't work for everyone - my daughter could only tolerate very low dosage and it didn't really do much for her at all

Hi Naylee, I tried it about 10 years ago after Dr Chris from the TV recommended it. I actually ordered mine from Dicksons Chemist in Scotland. It didn't help me unfortunately but I think the meds I was taking with it counter acted with it x

If you go on their website you can do an online form x I have decided to actually give it another try as I'm not taking any other meds x
