You are doing most things to help you keep the pain at bay. I try not to take my pain meds, but sometimes have to succumb, however there are some other things you could try. These don't work for everyone; I have a weighted blanket on my bed and it makes me feel like I am being cuddled all over and it helps me sleep. Also a lavender pillow spray helps me to relax so that I can go to sleep quickly. I have also just discovered, thanks to recommendations on here, Magnesium Spray, which I use on my lower legs and wow for me it's really good, it keeps the pain away for almost 24 hours, I use it straight after my shower every morning.
As I said these don't work for everyone, but for me it's worth trying everything that others have found helpful, anything to try and relieve the pain even if it's only a little bit.
Thank you so much will certainly try the magnesium spray can I purchase it from a chemist? Lavender spray I'm allergic to anything scented get allergic asthma and rhinitis. Thank you for advice
I got my Magnesium spray on line from Amazon, not sure if you can buy it in a pharmacy. You'll more than likely be able to buy it in Holland and Barrett though.
Thank you I will certainly try . Knew you could take it tablet form but rather a spray. I have osteoporosis so should be good for me. Hope you keeping well
Hi Pasanda
Well I haven't tried magnesium spray but I have a few tips for you that I have felt have really helped me.
I had a terrible Christmas with pain... It was only Boxing day that I felt well ( probably due to the 2 hr car journey Christmas Eve!!) We travelled back after Christmas and my pain returned again!! Christmas was spent sitting down a lot, no walking, not moving around at all. I spent nearly all of Christmas in desperate pain.
Since I've been home I have been out for short walks and I'm feeling pretty good, only do walks of say about 20 mins, and NOT on days when you feel fatigued.
I have also been on YouTube and I have been following CocoLime fitness cardio exercises designed with people with Fibromyalgia, please look it up as I have found that exercise is the key. DON'T do these workouts if you are in the middle of an attack though!!! Pick a day that you have lots of energy.
👍
Heat has really helped me, a wheat pillow and a heated electric blanket is good.
On the days when I'm in pain I take to my bed.... that hasn't been for a couple of days now, Yippeee!!!
I don't take any pain meds, I'm on a low dose anti-depressant which has helped my depressive mood and my anxiety. It also helps me sleep well too. Getting enough sleep is also very important.
Will try the YouTube exercises you mention. I find short walks good bad I'd you overdo it. I have a short nap in the day which helps and do relaxation exercises. Tensing muscles then letting go helps. Stress is the worse thing or rushing around. Thank you for advice appreciate it x
I to find it helps yo keep as active as I can. Only take amitriptyline at night to get some sleep but no other meds. It’s just learning how to pace yourself. Please take care 🙏
Take your pick or read/watch all three - spoon theory changed my life, understanding spoon theory means we can plan.
I have to say the youTube 4.30mins one isn't really upbeat - and it should be, cos I was bedridden for several years and now I can do things!
Also, many of us have found making changes to our diet helps too, but everyone is different and combined conditions can have a lot of food triggers that overlap.
Hopefully you might not have to remove practically all food groups to feel well! I have a lot of combinations, so I'm not even gonna attempt to list what my body says 'no' to., but I have compulsive eating issues so I'm not helping myself!
Anyhoo, my brain is mush now, hopefully I've written that all correctly-ish!
