Hi and a warm welcome to our community. Here you will find information support friendship and laughter too. You can find general information on fibromyalgia at our main website fmauk.org and read our patient information booklets at fmauk.org/publications

You can contact our benefits team for information on pip at 0300 999 0055 (Mon, Wed, Fri 10.00-12.00) or email benefits.advice@fmauk.org

Hiya hun I’m so sorry about your current situation! Seeing your Mam suffering like that is heartbreaking I’ve been there and it’s awful! I would say go for the pip you’ve got nothing to lose in trying! And if they say no appeal! Go for it hun!👍🏻👍🏻🤪

Have you tried talking with your RCN rep? You may be able to negotiate a less demanding role. Definitely it would be an idea to ask for a referral to the Occupation Health doctor at your trust.Sorry to hear you are having such a hard time. The RCN is really useful - might be worth chatting to them directly. Good luck and I do hope things improve soon.

Hello Tuez,I work in the community too and its a tough role. Definately get an RCN rep to assist you, also Occupational health. Do not retire without going through as many of the possibilities as you can. There is medical retirement if all else fails with an enhanced pension, but my understanding is you cannot then return to nursing.

My fibro has improved with aging and was at its worst in my 30's and 40's. Gradually improved as divorced, re marrried and generally happier.

Your employer has to make adequate adjustments to your work setting to enable you to continue.

I was even offered redeployment when I was really ill/immobile. I did not take it but know staff who have and its enabled them to carry on.

Do you need to be signed off to regroup and rest?

All the best and I hope for this crazy time to pass for you and better times ahead. Stay strong.
