If you get an unwelcome Private Message

Dealing with something elsewhere that made me think it was good to share this advice here just in case.

If I got an unwelcome approach by Private Message (PM) that I felt I could not deal with then I would follow the HU suggested approach:

(first I would screenshot or print to pdf)

#1 I would report the Private Message (PM) as this will go to the HU support people - it does not go to the forum admin team so they will not see it or be aware of it.

#2 I would then mute the PM and then I will receive no more pms from this person unless I decided to pm them once more which I would not. (Link below)

#3 If there was any public post that would break a forums rules then I would report it. I would not engage at all.

This lets the forum admin team know what's going on. I would reference the PM report as well so they are aware as they will not receive that PM report.

#4 I would then move on and await any responses and ignore the issue.

no problem at all. We do not get too much of this reported on this forum but the advice can be helpful when it is needed.
