Hi there, if you only started taking them on Sunday thats not long at all. I can only speak for myself. But If I had only taken them for 2 nights. I would just miss this evening's pill and start taking them in the morning.

Escitalopram is for depression not for pain. What is duloxatine prescribed for?? I've been on escitalopram for my depression for years now

Boombod profile image
Boombod in reply toJess_Holmes_0696

I was on escialopram for anxiety which they thought was causing my pain in upper back did help to start with but pain came back they did offer me duloxatine a 2 yrs ago but refused it so went on to duloxatine on Sunday doctor says I can do a straight swap so I have and it was working in the few days I started the pain was going but the tablets were keeping me awake so wanted to switch to morning I also have a underactive thyroid and though I was under medicated that’s why my joints and ribs and lower back was sore they upped my thyroxine and I was still in pain he said it could be fibro so put me on duloxatine and it’s helping

If you don't ween off them the way your Dr tells you to yes you can have bad withdrawal from it. You should be ik as long as your Dr weeks you off correctly

I take 1 pill in the morning and 1 at night and it works very well for me. Then it is constantly, evenly in my body.

What mg are u taking I take 60 but didn’t want to take another 60 in the morning think that will be too much to start with since I’ve only been on them a few days

I take mine a couple of hours before bedtime. I find that if its just before, I get really severe heartburn and nausea. Not sure if its with lying down soon after taking them as I don't get heartburn with anything else.

Boombod profile image
Boombod in reply torainbow_noon

Yeah I take mine about 8.00 at night but I find they just keep me awake I don’t get heartburn though

Hi, may I suggest that you phone your pharmacist and ask about how to change from evening to morning? They have good knowledge of all medication and side effects ( probably more than your doctor!) And Will give you good advice, take care xx

I took one in the morning and still couldn’t sleep. After nights without sleep I gave up on them although I know that I probably should have given it more time to see if that side effect wore off.

Boombod profile image
Boombod in reply todorking15

They are the first ones I took that are helping with pain so goi g to stick with them and see if taking them earlier helps

Funny you write this, I’ve been taking it for 5 years and I’ve just changed to taking it in the evening as I find I am so sleepy all morning and hoped that taking it in the evening will help. So far it’s worked well. X

Boombod profile image
Boombod in reply toBeccaBoo456

That’s great I’m the opposite so deffo going to try and swap to morning see if it helps

BeccaBoo456 profile image
BeccaBoo456 in reply toBoombod

Yes I had it in the morning for all this time and found it great. Recently my fatigue and brain fog is becoming unbearable so I’m hoping this might help? 🤷🏻‍♀️

As for when to change yours to morning, I’d just not take it tonight n take it in the morning instead x

Boombod profile image
Boombod in reply toBeccaBoo456

Thank you I think I will do that

Looks like you may be sorted now, but I've tried both morning and evening previously and found that taking at lunchtime (providing the fibro fog doesn't make me forget 🙄 )gives me the least issues with either sweats, not sleeping or gastro effects. Recently my fog has been worse (I think its the heat) so I've forgotten a few times, only remembering in the evening and from experience I have found that 4-6 hours late doesn't seem to matter but any bigger gap than that wipes me out for a couple of days until I get back to normal rhythm again.

Boombod profile image
Boombod in reply todenny_the_wench

I took it at 9.00 this morning so see how that goes thank you for ur advice much appreciated if this doesn’t work will try lunchtime

Jess_Holmes_0696 profile image
Jess_Holmes_0696 in reply todenny_the_wench

Try setting up alarms on your cellphone if you have one. That has been the best thing I've ever done!! No more missed doses of any meds with the alarms set for daily taking of all my meds

Jess_Holmes_0696 profile image
Jess_Holmes_0696

I would have to say ask your doctor how to safely switch the time you take the medication

Boombod profile image
Boombod in reply toJess_Holmes_0696
