Morning peeps, I'm looking for advice or help from a hairdresser if any on here. Last week whole family came down with a flu bug and I'm sure you all know how bad that can be for a fibro sufferer. Well, my daughter who has very long hair was also I'll, had a bath and wrapped hair in a hoodie. Yep one massive matted bun. Tried, oil, conditioner and even wd40 and am now using a pintail comb to stab into it as it is rock hard and using a frizz tamer brush. As you can imagine my stress levels are through the roof. Any advice. Sorry so long a post and not directly related to me.

Help!
healthunlocked.com/fibromya..., oh dear flu is nasty and as schools back in all the viral things flying around, section hair into 4 pieces try water squirter make hair very damp, then gradually work through with your fingers downward strokes on one part of the hair hope this helps , failing that give your local hairdresser a ring for advice, seeking some professional help will at least take the stress away, good luck, hope you all get better soon .
Someone I know uses Canter Coat Shine, Mane and Tail Conditioner - product for getting through matted and dirty horses' manes and tails. She swears by it and have to say her hair is always shiny and silky and she hasn't started neighing yet Otherwise I suppose it's really a case of asking the experts at the hairdressers to lend a hand. hope you get it sorted soon.
My son had the same thing and his waist length hair was a solid mass of tangle, I tried for 3 days to get it out and failed spectacularly. In the end he asked me to cut it off and I did.
It is now growing again and he now makes sure it doesn't get in that state again.
It is unfortunate for your daughter, but if she plaits it every night it won't be able to move about in such a way as to get tangled.
My son was really upset by the loss of his mane, but he really takes care of it now.
