Hi Admin. Could you tell me if there is anywhere I can go in Southport/surrounding to meet other chronic pain sufferers to chat. Find it difficult to talk to family and friends about how I'm feeling. I like this community but crave face to face conversations. Thank you xx

Hi Betty,

I’m Southport based too but stupidly I don’t know how to send you a private message ☹️☹️

However, I can pass on the following:-

Ainsdale Health Centre, Sandbrook Road.

Friday mornings 10-12.30.

Great bunch of chronic pain sufferers. Very welcoming to all. Informal, cuppa, chat, with some playing board and card games, some doing arts and crafts. Whatever.Dogs also welcome!

Living the dream at Ainsdale library, alternative Mondays. Next meeting is next Monday 26th @ 10.30- 12.30.

Informative and a few basic exercises learned at the Pain Management course.

Both groups offer great support and friendship. Not places to moan. Don’t expect any form of “pity party” from anyone. We’re more about finding the humour in our adversity.

Hope this helps. We are all aware how important it is to be able to talk to others who really understand.

Take care

Jan xx

Is that Frederica's group as it is different meeting details than I have but they do tend to change the most?

Hi Desquinn,

Fred does get involved but I think she has a group based at the fire station.

The guy who is there every week is Kevin.
