Hi Pippa, my mother had that op after an MRI scan identified an AA but she was lucky enough to have it via keyhole surgery at the last minute as she has a lot of other health issues! Because of that her recovery took 4-6 weeks BUT for the full surgical operation they advised it would take 3-6 months so I’m not surprised you feel rubbish at the moment! If you notice any loss of feeling or tingling in your legs see your DR or get back to hospital as it can be a sign of a compromised circulation. Otherwise it’s a case of VERY SMALL STEPS to recovery - keep a diary so you can chart your improvement - it really helps on those days when you ask “am I ever going to recover?? 😡” . Be kind to yourself - you’ve had a major operation and you deserve to take the time off it will take you to recover so don’t rush things or it will take longer.
If you feel awful TELL people so they can watch out for you and HELP you - you’d do the same for them so it’s your turn now!
Take care and best wished for a
Speedy recovery, Tracy x
Take care for the 1st few weeks hope there is family or lovely friend to pop in and make you a cuppa etc. xxxx
