Morning louise I'm sorry to hear of your pain it is good now you have this appointment as you might find you get more answers with a rhumatologist than from your gp , let us know how that goes I've sent a link from our main site fmauk.org/ for you to read .Welcome to our friendly forum healthunlocked.com/fibromya... hope to see you soon and hoping you pick up friendly advice tips from our members xxx
Good news to get a rheumo appt. HUn make yourself a word document of how your condition affects you daily life, leave no stone unturned (I incl. personal hygeine difficulties) if like many you get brain fog (that feels like dementia) note that also- for pain ask if you can be started with some pain injections like Kenalog (as long as your bone structure is good) I started with this AND referal to hydrotherapy and acupuncture both have helped me a lot. good luck, let us know what happens...
I don't think any one truly gets an handle on it it changes all the time as does the pain the triggers how long a flare lasts it's so complex one min you feel almost human then for days you can barely move or think. Hopefully your rheumatologist is good doesn't just prod you ask if it hurts say yup fibro give you a leaflet and refer you bk to gp like my first rhumo did. Be blunt n honest tell them how much it blooming hurts to get out of bed or to get into bed. And don't let them fob you off Hun xxxxxx
Good morning louisegreathead123 warm wishes on joining our group I am sorry you have been struggling for so long with pain. Hopefully now you are going to see a specialist you may start and get some answers. I am sure he/she will determine what medication or treatment you will need if they indeed offer you any at all. If they can't find a problem it will mean going back to see your GP. If you feel your doctor is unsympathetic to how you feel it may be wise to try seeing another GP. But I would just wait to see how your appointment go's first and wait for the results take it one step a time . Hang in there and in the meantime please keep in touch with the group it is a wonderful source of support. Good luck with the examination in February xx
hi danielle i am hoping to get some stategies to help me deal with the pain and continue with eveyday life and work , at the minute my job entails having to restrain people if necessary and this is something i dont think ill be able to do anymore
