Between my fibro and my IBS, I seem to be caught in a never ending cycle of ouch! Had a massively bad flare two weeks ago, to the point where I literally couldn't put one foot in front of the other thanks to the pain. We were out in town, so my partner literally flagged down a taxi and got us home. I honestly scared me with how quickly the flare came on and the severity.
I'm relatively lucky, I usually manage to keep everything balanced between a 5-8 on a high pain flare thanks to my regular painkillers and a bit of self care, but this just whacked the pain bell at a 9.5 straight off the bat and got worse before the end of the evening.
My partner made me go to the walk in clinic the next day to get bumper doses of everything and got me an appointment with my doc two days later. Cue me downing large doses of codeine to just get to the bathroom and you're pretty much there.
The docs given me emergency prescriptions, put up my amitryptaline prescription again and we're in a wait and see. However, I'm pretty much left with a ghost image after the flare. I'm now getting a line of pain pretty much about 2 cms below my bra band that just grows and grows to the point where I have to hold it to be able to breathe - but just on the right hand side.
Does this happen to any of you out there? Just a weird one pain that doesn't move and just waxes and wanes as it sees fit, rather than the usual diffuse pain or gut pain (thanks IBS - like I couldn't have lived without you).
