Trapped.

Hello folks. I just read a post from 1499 I think....and the bit I enjoyed reading most..and cheered me the most was that it is a wet blustery day in Glasgow..you may wonder why...simply because I feel lika prisoner in my own home. Trapped indoors with pain and drugs ....I have a number of health probs besides the life draining FM. To me the curse of FM is sheer horrible heartbreaking mindblowing loneliness. And never getting any real fresh air. I dream that one magical someone will come to my door and whisk me off in a car to the seaside or beautiful area of countryside..but its only a dream. I drool over tv programmes about the refreshing outside world and try to imagine the breeze on my face and the smell of the sea or the meadows. Sometimes I cant believe that after a lifetime of hard work and caring..that I would be left forgotten in a chair. So tell me its blustery and wet in Glasgow..or misty in Northern Ireland. Its the only way I will ever get out. Love to you all.

Hi Dolly1954, your local AgeUK group will most likely run day trips, they will almost certainly have a lunch club and most likely a befriending service.

ageuk.org.uk/about-us/local...

I often distract myself with Google Maps, traveling all over the world and wandering about at street level, “walking” distances that would be impossible in real life! Some buildings such as museums allow you inside and you can view the exhibits. It’s called Google Trekking.

Here are some to get you started. Have fun! xx

Im right on the south coast in east sussex. Newhaven has a harbour for the ferries to come in..the fishermens boats..and the Lifeboat station. I remember how all the lights twinkle in the dark waters of the harbour and how clean the night air is..how you can smell the seaweed and look out to sea..across the channel towards France. Through my window I can only see some scruffy garages...but in my minds eye..my memory I see the harbour lights and feel the salt air on my face.

That's sounds great,we can go anywhere with imagination an memories xx

Hello again Dolly1954, there is a live video webcam of Newhaven harbour from the National Coastwatch Institute (was the Coastguard, but now volunteers) lookout at Castle Hill. You can see the waves moving and people walking past with their dogs, I’ve never seen a webcam this good!

newhavenwebcams.co.uk

I hope it gives you another view other than your garages. I can’t do anything about the smell of seaweed though, I love that smell too! x 🙂

PS There are two webcams one looks to the east and the other is to the west. This is what the website says:

“It provides a panoramic view of Seaford Bay from Newhaven Harbour entrance to Seaford Head eastwards and to the ocean off Brighton westwards as well as to seaward into the shipping lanes of the English Channel. On a clear day, a total exceeding 400 square miles can be observed.”

Iv peaked at that one too☺so good people watching from my front room! Thanks tedsmum xx
