Oh you poor thing Bob. Dental pain is the absolute pits. I managed to have most of my teeth out before they diagnosed fibro. Luckily for me as I had been referred to one of the london dental teaching hospitals all the treatment was free so it didn't add insult to injury in having to pay to have the pain inflicted. I will never know whether it was absolutely necessary to have so many removed as like you, the pain continued after the teeth were removed. However now some two years later I seem to be ok dental wise.
Having medical procedures is sometimes [most times] a slippery slope. we are thrown into flares that can last weeks or months. I wish I had an easy answer for you, but I do not. Alternate heat/ice externally. try to stay ahead of your pain with prescribed pain meds.
I wanted to add that there will be times you will seek medical treatment for an ailment or pain, the doctors will tell you there is nothing wrong... but that doesn't invalidate your pain, you are not crazy...you are suffering from nerve pain.
I am so genuinely sorry to read this my friend, and I sincerely hope that the dentist can get it all sorted for you. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.
