I have had back trouble since one of my pregnancies in 1984 which has got so bad in recent years with hip and knee pain too .My consultant says its just referred pain from my back which has some disc problems and lots of wear and tear . Im not a baby at all when it comes to pain but it has become excruciating in recent years forcing me to get 2or 3 hours sleep a night in a reclining chair .I feel a wreck
Three weeks ago I was sent for a CTguided nerve block injection which has made me even worse ! I am now taking MST and Oramorph building up the dose gradually .
Has anyone else had this treatment ? I have back pain in places I never had before now as well as the old pain !

Hi Acp1 welcome to our wonderful forum ☺ I'm sure you will come to find the forum invaluable in chatting to others who are going through the same experience as you, talking to others at different stages of their lives with Fibro and learning from their experiences.
It does help with the whole process and I wish I had found the site years ago. I have had Fibro for nearly 30 yrs and I'm still learning about it, like we all are.
I do suffer with nerve damage in my back like you & i can hardly move some days with pain in hips, knees, back etc.the heal of my left foot is numb due to nerve damage, so you are not on your own my friend. I have butrans patches which slow release pain control which do help. I also take Codiene & other meds. Are you taking pregablin or gabapentin because these drugs help with neuropathic pain ?.
Please do go look at the mother site where you will find all the information you need and lots of useful links on Fibro and I look forward to chatting to you on the forum.
Hello and a warm welcome to our friendly fibro forum where you can get advice, support, help and understanding.
I am sorry to heear you are in so much pain, and the lack of sleep does seem to exacerbate the symptoms.
Have you been diagnosed with fibro or are you still undergoing tests?
I have heard anecdotedly of nerve blocks and sometimes it can take several weeks to "kick in"
However as you are in so much pain it would be worth having a chat with your GP. I really don't think upping morphine is the way to go, although it may feel as though it is the only relief you can get. It will be difficult if you need to come down from high doses, and I feel sure there will be other suitable medication out there for you.
Im having a lot of tests at the moment and the morphine for the pain has come after many trials with other drugs. I have believed Fibro may be why i have pain practically everywhere now , when I cant move sometimes and the all enveloping fatigue is so depressing too .
I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I am so genuinely sorry to read of your suffering and struggling and I sincerely hope that your pain eases soon for you.
I have just been reading through the side effects of nerve block injections, and pain is not one of them? It include things such as rashes, itching and weight gain etc. I would talk to your doctor again to ascertain why this is happening to you?
I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.
