I have orthostatic hyotension, Fybromyalgia, Ehlers Danlos and PoTS. I'm not sure if it has a connection with Fibro but it is definitely connected to my EDS and PoTS. Maybe others can tell you more about Fibro and orthostatic hyotension. Drink lots of water and make sure you are well hydrated. I drink about 4 litres and I'm on a high salt diet but only do that when the doctor says it's ok.

Best wishes

Hi there

I have suffered with Fibromyalgia and ME for 36 years and been a member of the forum for 5 years.

I don't claim by any means to be an expert, but am just speaking from my own experiences and what I have seen on the forum.

I wouldn't say that Orthostatic hypotension is connected to Fibromyalgia. It certainly is not a common symptom.

I had never heard of this condition before. Here is a basic sum up of the condition:

"Orthostatic hypotension — also called postural hypotension — is a form of low blood pressure that happens when you stand up from sitting or lying down. Orthostatic hypotension can make you feel dizzy or lightheaded, and maybe even faint.

Orthostatic hypotension is often mild, lasting a few seconds to a few minutes after standing. However, long-lasting orthostatic hypotension can be a sign of more-serious problems, so talk to your doctor if you frequently feel lightheaded when standing up. It's even more urgent to see a doctor if you lose consciousness, even momentarily."

Have you consulted your GP about this? Lack of balance can be a symptom of Fibromyalgia, but when it is accompanied by something else, for instance a change in blood pressure, then it is not just a lack of balance.

I hope that makes sense?

Wishing you a peaceful evening.

Hi Huskywomen I'm sorry your experiencing these awful symptoms. Like BlueMermaid3 says, it is not a symptom of Fibro that I know of it & also never heard of it. You should really go to doctors as soon as possible and make them aware of the fainting. I was just looking what you said about falling & hurting yourself so much, it must be very worrying my friend.

I can't believe your GP just told you to drink lots of water, I'm sure you have to be closely monitored with this, from what I've read.

Hi Huskywomen

I really am so genuinely sorry to read this my friend and it is a very unpleasant condition to have whereby your blood pressure plummets. It owuld explain what you had written in your other post. I have pasted you a link below to the NHS Choices cache on this issue:

As far as I am aware there is no link between this and Fibro, sorry, it is something else to add. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.

All my hopes and dreams for you
