Hi Shirleyann12 welcome to our wonderful forum ☺ I'm sure you will come to find the forum invaluable in chatting to others who are going through the same experience as you, talking to others at different stages of their lives with Fibro and learning from their experiences.
It does help with the whole process and I wish I had found the site years ago. I have had Fibro for nearly 30 yrs and I'm still learning about it, like we all are.
Please do go look at the mother site where you will find all the information you need and lots of useful links on Fibro and I look forward to chatting to you on the forum.
Peace, luv n light
Jan ☺
To be honest for years I thought I was going mad, even ended up in psyche ward's,testing me for this n that. I only got diagnosed last year by my. new GP who seemed to understand and empathise, but still I'm struggling to acknowledge,is it really something else, trust me I know it's not in my head,my body tells me that, but I feel like nobody takes me serious, mocking me with so called clever words but I can tell they don't believe me,or for some sinister reason make out that they don't believe me! Am I going mad or paranoid? It's a ruddy hard one.. thanks.
Shirleyann12 honestly my friend I have the same story along with many others. I do think things are changing slowly & more research and understanding of chronic pain is now breaking through. It has been said that the medical profession can only give what pain relief is available and if that doesn't work, they don't know how to help or what else to do and they can't say, I'm a doctor & there isn't anything I can do, so instead they give off this exterior attitude, which, yes does come across as being rude & arrogant & uncaring but it also stops them having to answer to many questions from you, I just thought that kind of made sense when I read it. I have imagined I've had brain tumours, cancer, ms, etc etc.you name it, I have convinced myself I was definitely going to die, surely someone with so much pain, can't survive. So believe me honey, you really are not alone. It's disgraceful how ppl are treated in this day & age & it really is about time that ppls.attitudes changed and the government makes the nhs educate the General population and all the medical professionals that Fibromyalgia is a very painful and debilitating syndrome, we can but hope my friend.
Luv Jan x
