Anyone been given Ill Health Retirement from the NHS ?
Hi there. I got IHR from local authority last year which is I believe a bit different to NHS. Whilst I have Fibro, I also have a spinal condition which I feel provided a more substantial evidence base for me. I would advise Union support and probably best to be off sick long term which evidences that you are not fit to work. I presume you've been referred to Occ Health? I'm 57.
Hi alihetherington I retired from nhs this year age 61 with fibro. I too had to do it twice (once then an appeal-worked). If you don,t want your "linen aired across the forum" then PM me and I,ll tell you how I succeeded otherwise I can tell you the nurse at our occ health was my saviour as I kept appt,s with her for 2 years. My g.p , my rheumatologist, my physio, all supported my request.. I took a lump sum and a small monthly income, I also get PIP & ESA to top up my N.I until I am 67 and my income. any more details I,ll be happy to guide you.
I do not work for the NHS but I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck with this.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
