Well what's wrong with being labeled with fibro, so long as that is what you have?
Unless she is admitting that Dr's see that and then say everything that is bothering is just part of your fibro. Cause yea, why would anyone want that.
But if she has a better label for it then great, I've been waiting for that.
I'm sorry you have to deal with that. I wish I could find a dr that made sense. Hopefully you will find one soon.

It's pot luck if you get a good GP or a bad one. Fortunately my GP is in his forties very clever and forward thinking. He is always happy to here what I think as well before making descions which is priceless. Your call but I would complain and change GP. My GP has referred me to Rhumetology, the pain clinic and physio plus he has prescribed me very strong pain meds. It is even within their power to diagnose Fibro but most prefer a Hospital Rhume Consultant to do it.
Best of luck

Yes it was a rheumatologist who diagnosed me but I don't ever see him as he said there was no follow up appointment I will try another doctor at the surgery worth a go
TBH my Rhume was so bad I'm glad there was no follow up appointment but I did get a diagnosis. The pain clinic offered three things the first was a CBT course of two hours over eight weeks with a lead physio and a psychologist who specialises in pain. Very informal take your own cushion and chats about pacing, overdoing it, the pain cycle and individual concerns. It was great to meet others with fibro, I'm not alone! They could then arrange physio, one to one CBT or a meds review. This is about six years ago when first diagnosed. My doctor referred me again last year but the system has changed. I didn't see a pain Dr but something between a physio/nurse practitioner but he couldn't prescribe plus both CBT psychologists are on maternity leave with no cover! I did get some very good physio on my neck and shoulders.
In my experience the pain clinics focus is to get you off painkillers, perhaps they are more hardened, whereas my GP has known me for twenty years and with that practice for 48! He seems more inclined to listen and at the end of the day it is the GP who prescribes the drugs not the clinic who make suggestions.
