Hi rubyh

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I have pasted you a link below to our mother site, FMA UK which hosts loads of useful Fibro information:

I am so genuinely sorry to read that you also have Fibro, and I sincerely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to your pain issues. I have also pasted you an excerpt and a link to the *NHS Choices cache on Fibro:

*Fibromyalgia, also called fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS), is a long-term condition that causes pain all over the body.

As well as widespread pain, people with fibromyalgia may also have:

increased sensitivity to pain

fatigue (extreme tiredness)

muscle stiffness

difficulty sleeping

problems with mental processes (known as "fibro-fog") – such as problems with memory and concentration

headaches

irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) – a digestive condition that causes stomach pain and bloating

If you think you have fibromyalgia, visit your GP. Treatment is available to ease some of its symptoms, although they're unlikely to disappear completely.

NHS Choices Fibromyalgia Pages:

nhs.uk/Conditions/Fibromyal...

It may prove beneficial to try and ascertain referrals from your GP to a pain management clinic, a Rheumatologist and for CBT if you have not got these already? A referral to a physiotherapist can also prove useful as they can start you off on gentle exercises. It could also prove helpful to discuss pain medication with your doctor and always report new or persistent symptoms, as new pains issues may not always be connected to your Fibro. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

I have found Edited By Admin a very useful websites when I was lost bewilder and alone with the diagnosis of this condition. At the point of the diagnosis I was given a leaflet and told there is no cure you will have to learn to manage it. It was then I found this website and forum which have been a big help. Look into you local fibromyalgia support group too. Gentle hugs.

If you would like this link please can you send a private message to Jenamey41 and ask them for it, thanks

Welcome to the mad house!! Sorry to hear that you have Fibro, but it's great that you found us. I have had so much support and advice from the members. It makes a big difference.

We all get bamboozled at the start. Everything you read gets contradicted in the next article. But you will soon get used to keeping an open mind on what you read. It helps us to keep up to date with medical articles.

I'm not sure what it is that you specifically need to know. There is so much info that there isn't enough room to write it all. I'm not sure what your dr has told you about it, or if you've seen a rheumatologist yet? There is no cure for Fibro. They say that it isn't a degenerative condition but we all seem to get worse over time.

There are ways of coping with Fibro so don't feel that it's the end of the world. Maybe if you wrote another post explaining how far you've come in the diagnosis process, and ask specific questions then you will get a lot more help. As I say there is way too much to answer your post with anything helpful.

If you wish to keep your post private, as in forum members only then you need to lock your post when you do it. At the foot of the post page there are two options. Click on the one on the right (can't remember what it says lol) and a padlock will appear next to the title and you become 'hidden' to anyone who isn't a forum member.

Phew!!! I hope that's of some help to you....... So pleased my brain stayed clear lon enough lol 🐸
