Link doesn't work - when it's pasted into the comment box it misses a bit off the end.

It's the The Warm Discount Scheme, and you have to be in receipt of Pension Credit in order to qualify.

Hi link worked earlier ?? I have updated it

If you get Pension Credit you get it automatically other groups can apply I believe

Hi, thanks for posting this as I'm sure it will help a lot of people.

Your link worked perfectly, and went straight to all the necessary information.

If in receipt of Guaranteed Pension Credit, you don't need to apply you will receive it automatically, Savings Credit you do need to apply. People on other benefits can also get it. £140.00 can go a long way with winter heating bills.

Thanks again

GP.

Hi there,

Thank you dillm for brining this to our attention.👍🏻😀

I clicked the link and it worked perfectly for me. I got in touch with my provider, EDF and they went through the whole thing with me and I'm registered for the £140 payment any time after November this year.

Tinky - there are several benefits that are eligible, including ESA WRAG and DLA depending on who your provider is. You could use a search engine and put in 'winter warmth payment' and I'm sure that you would get to the right place.

Positive vibes to all 😀

Many thanks for this info dillm2.....totally unaware of it before.....will be approaching British gas and see if I can get it. As Foggy says it is not just for those on pension credit. .....anyone know why it only applies to electricity not gas when many heat their homes by gas?

Hi

I got the Winter Warmth payment from my provider a couple of months ago. They allowed me to transfer the money from the credit on my electric account to my gas account.

I don't know if all service providers will allow you to do this, but there is nothing to lose by asking.

Thanks for the tip Lu. Hope your day ok......fatigue and accompanying nausea, dizziness, weakness and a general feeling of feeling unwell just won't release me from their grasp! Summer seems to be slipping by and I hardly notice. .....ggrrrr.

You're welcome 😊

I am feeling very much like you at the moment. I have a ginormous headache, feel sick, in pain, etc., etc.

Need to food shop, but want to just collapse into bed.

I was up at 5am to let my kitten out and have been noticing how quickly the daylight hours are shortening.

I really suffer in the winter as I am always cold which makes my pain worse.

As you rightly say, where's summer gone 😔

What a lovely pair of 'crocks' we are!! The very thought of going food shopping at mo makes me ill!......I only go now when absolutely necessary and have stocked the freezer to help me out......I didn't see things coming to such a pass I must admit.....what I wouldn't give to feel energetic and fit to tackle the world!.......well okay at mo I'd settle for having the energy to stay awake today!!

Hope your day improves. All best.

Lol! We are ☺️

My fridge and freezer are completely empty. Just had a new one delivered. Have had to manage without a fridge for over a week. Not easy.

Due to having to buy a new freezer now hardly any money to put food into it.

Have to wait 4 hours until I can turn it on, so can't go shopping yet. Desperate to get it done and climb into bed. So tired 😔

Will just have to find some energy from somewhere.

Hope you're feeling not quite so bad later. Take it easy

Hi bluemermaid, have you tried ordering food online, mist supermarkets wii deliver. I pay £1 or £2 depending on delivwry time, which is cheaper than taking the car to the shop ! Saves you energy to use on something else. Best wishes

Hi

Many thanks for the thought. I do generally shop online but because I had a 7am-7pm delivery slot for my new freezer to arrive I daren't order anything online just in case my freezer didn't turn up for some reason.

In my world, if it can go wrong it will! I'd already had to throw the contents of a fridge freezer away last week after mine stopped working overnight.

Thanks again though. It was kind of you to let me have that thought

Take it easy x

I'm not eligible but thank you for posting as there are so many benefits out there and what I call the more "obscure" ones that don't get much publicity are often not known about by people.x
