Hiya

I was always of the opinion that fibromyalgia made my period symptoms worse.... but I guess you could look at it the other way round!! I know my symptoms were always worse around that "time of the month"

Fortunately I am now post menopausal.... but sadly the fibromyalgia symptoms still remain :(

Sorry I can't really offer you any advice on making "periods" more bearable... just painkillers, hot water bottle, maybe ask your doctor for some advice. Xx

Hi Zita71, sorry to hear that you are suffering. In reply to your question, it's the opposite for me! Two days before my period is due I have a huge relief in symptoms and feel like I can conquer the world, which is unfortunately followed by a huge crash and burn! May I suggest raspberry leaf tea which may help with period related pains. I have been drinking this for years at that time of the month and they work a treat. I'm afraid they don't work for Fibro pains but if they can ease the period pains even a little it may be worth a try. Soft healing hugs to you x

3 or 4 days before I get very ouchie. Everything hurts and I start to doubt my ability to cope any longer. Then I have the miserable first days of period before coming back to life again. I hate it.

Hi

Yes, although mine is worst during, massive hip/back pain & cramps.

It was a little bit better when I was on the combined pill.

Now I'm on the mini pill (progestogen only) the GP warned me that this could make the bleeding worse for a while, but I have found the opposite is true - my periods have stopped all together! I've been to check this is ok and I'm not pregnant & its not dangerous, just a side effect of the medication. Its a win-win from my perspective :D
