Am wondering

If anyone knows if Fibro is hereditary? Am concerned that my daughter has symptoms, but don't want to say anything, as it will cause her to worry. She suffers with psoriasis, which is particularly bad at the moment. Thanks for any answers๐Ÿ˜€

Hi from what I have read, it is indeed hereditary. If a parent has fibro, there is a 50% chance that a child could developed it. X

I too have read things which lead me to believe that there could be genetic link and I do know of people who have other family members who also suffer with fibro. You say your daughter suffers with psoriasis which is an auto immune disorder, and there are schools of thought that fibro is also auto immune linked.

Strangely, I have fibro and my twin brother has psoriasis !!

Can I ask how old your daughter is and if she is under a lot of pressure at the moment ?

Sending lots of positive vibes to both of you ๐Ÿ˜€

Hi Foggie , Cathi, my daughter will be The Big 40 this Sept. She has suffered with psoriasis since she was about 14, had a spell in hospital just before a levels, and is suffering quite badly at the moment. Not sure why it has flared this time, although she blames her job as a solicitor, she would rather. Be at home looking after Tor who is 4 next week and Ben who is 2 on Friday. x

Hi Foggie,

Yes its hereditary , ive just found out in january after having many years of pain, persistant naging at docs that something else was making me ill giving me all this pain and discomfort.

My sister has this condition too, she has had this twenty year.

My son who is thirty three is showing signs off it to.

There are no signs of it in my family but my eldest daughter thinks she may have signs of it, I really do hope not as she is pregnant at the moment and has a young son of 2 to cope with!

Agree with the tread carefully, my Son gets really angry with any slight hints that his constant tiredness is anything other than him being up all night on his laptop, daren't mention Fibro to him anymore. And add in his raging teenage hormones - he's nearly 16 years old - make it impossible to talk to him without making him angry, well, angrier! also agree with you about a Mothers Instinct! Good luck, Julie xxx

Thanks Julie, yep mothers instinct, but makes it harderthan easier. At 16 it might really be hie age and hormones - doesn't make it any easier for us mums! ๐Ÿ˜Š
